Phil SMT profile

Phil Stark


Having been with the company for more than 15 years Phil knows the company intimately. Through this experience and knowledge Phil is constantly looking to improve TALKINGTECH’s services and solutions through innovation and the partnering with like-minded companies. As well as his passion for IT, Phil enjoys playing a number of different sports and is also a keen photographer.

Thomas Hanrahan


Tom is the Chief Financial Officer and Head of HR and is responsible for TALKINGTECH’s commercial, financial and HR functions. Tom has a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University and has been a qualified CAANZ Chartered Accountant since 1996. Outside of work Tom enjoys time with his young family, and remains actively involved in a number of sports including multi-sport, golf and snowboarding.

Darin Gillies


Darin joined TALKINGTECH in 2007 and is the Chief Technology Officer. Darin is a qualified automotive engineer and has a Bachelor of Information Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching. Darin is passionate about sports, loves to fish and spends much of his spare time working on DIY projects around the home.

Global Sales Manager

Based in London, Grant is responsible for managing the European operation and the global sales team. A proud Kiwi, Grant graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Business Studies and has worked in telecommunications throughout New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Outside of work, Grant is a keen sportsman both on and off the couch.

Alan Moss

Head of Product Management

Alan is Head of Product Management and is responsible for TALKINGTECH’s product development. Alan has a Bachelor of Economics from Thames Valley University. Prior to joining TALKINGTECH Alan worked in telecommunications as a pricing manager. Outside of work Alan enjoys heading to the mountain to ski.


Sean Young

GM North America

Sean joined TALKINGTECH in 2007 and sells our i-tiva solution into public libraries.  He has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science and a Masters of Adult Education.  Sean enjoys reading, basketball, swimming and gardening.  Sean grew up in Northern California, but now resides in Austin, Texas.

Michael is the General Manager of Australia and Asia, after previously filling account director and account manager roles. After graduating from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Commerce, and a couple of years travelling in Europe, Michael has been based in Sydney since 2008. Outside of work, Michael finds time to play cricket and golf.

Steve is the Regional Sales Manager for New Zealand and is responsible for client acquisition and account management. Prior to joining TALKINGTECH, Steve worked mainly in media in GM and strategic analyst roles for 14 years. Away from work you will probably find him on a football field, golf or triathlon course, or spending all important time with the family.
